Bunbury Free Wireless “HOT ZONE”
The Bunbury Chamber of Commerce (BCCI) in partnership with the South West Development Commission, and the City of Bunbury is about to establish Bunbury as a ‘connected city’ by establishing an integrated CBD wireless hotzone.
The proposed wireless hotszone will deliver free internet access to visitors and tourists within the Bunbury CBD including the visitors information centre and Bicentennial Park. The service will offer web and email access via wireless capable devises such as laptop computers and PDAs.
Existing Bunbury businesses and residential broadband customers are not the target market for proposed service; rather, the project focuses on the connection needs of people doing business in the city and tourists.
Service
The service will be available 24/7 at a minimum speed of 256/64 kbps that will allow basic web browsing/ email functionality. Each individual on the network will be allowed reasonable download limits to ensure the system operates efficiently and delivers on the minimum speed requirement.
